1Potential

Potential is a measure of the energy required to drive current Current between two electrodes. Electrode In an electrochemical system, Electrochemical System potential may be either positive or negative, depending on the configuration.  A positive potential indicates a spontaneous (also called galvanic) process, where current can be drawn from the system as redox Redox reactions occur.  A negative potential indicates a non-spontaneous (also called electrolytic) process, where current must be applied to the system for redox reactions to occur.
