A “dummy cell” is a simple circuit consisting of resistors and/or capacitors that can be used to test the behavior of a potentiostat. Pine Research includes a dummy cell with each potentiostat. A dummy cell is a useful diagnostic tool. When you struggle to acquire the data you expect and suspect an instrument issue, testing the experiment with across a dummy cell helps remove the complications of cell cable, electrodes, and chemistry from the measurement. It can be used in any WaveNano series electrochemical workstation. The WaveNeuro Dummy Cell is a diagnostic tool that contains simple circuits useful for testing the WaveNeuro and headstage cable/component setup.  The dummy cell is designed to be directly attached to the HEADSTAGE connector(s) on the front panel of the WaveNeuro.
