The University of Houston Electrochemistry workshop is a 3 day electrochemistry workshop the teaches students the fundamentals and advanced topics around cyclic voltammetry. Students perform and analyze cyclic voltammetry data of Tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). TCNQ will also be used for a special UV/Vis spectroelectrochemistry experiment on the last day of the workshop.
Alex Peroff joined the Pine Research team as an Electroanalytical Scientist in 2016. Alex came to Pine Research after earning his Ph.D. at Northwestern University under the direction of Richard Van Duyne and Eric Weitz. Following his doctorate, Alex completed a post-doctoral position at SUNY Albany. Alex resides in the Durham, North Carolina area.
Professor Naihao Chiang is the Drs. Yao and Song Endowed Professor of Chemistry at the University of Houston. His research focuses on fundamental light-matter interactions: manipulate light to induce new chemical and physical phenomena, and leverage these to pursue interdisciplinary projects linking physics, chemistry, materials science and biomedical engineering. The research builds upon my skillset and training, and involves instrumentation, technology, and materials development to extend the capabilities of nanoscale optical processes. He seeks to formulate and interrogate new plasmonic/optical cavity enabled near-field phenomena for fundamental studies of liquid-phase surface chemistry, with the aid of applications in regenerative medicine.
Neil Spinner joined the Pine Research Team as an Electrochemical Engineer in 2016. Neil brings with him an extensive history of working with batteries, especially while working as a post-doctoral research associate at the Naval Research Laboratory and as a graduate student at the University of Connecticut. Originally from New Hampshire, Neil enjoys following his wildly successful Boston sports teams and is running out of space in his closet for the scores of championship T-shirts. Neil resides in the Durham, North Carolina area.
