This specialty cell cable is intended to connect a WaveDriver series electrochemical workstation to a USB-port-based cell, such as the Screen-Printed Electrode cell kit or the Honeycomb spectroelectrochemical cell kit.  While the standard cell cable included with your electrochemical workstation can be used in conjunction with the Screen-Printed Electrode or Honeycomb cells via the Universal Specialty Cell Connection Kit, some users may prefer the simplicity of “plug and play” type connections that this specialty cell cable offers.  It connects to the D-SUB port on the front of the workstation and terminates in a Mini B USB plug.  This cable connects working and counter electrodes through the USB Mini-B plug and has a socketed wire to connect an external reference electrode.

Electrochemical Workstation Compatibility Notice

This product is only compatible with the WaveDriver series electrochemical workstations, which includes the WaveDriver 10, WaveDriver 20, WaveDriver 40, WaveDriver 100, and WaveDriver 200.

This cell cable interfaces the potentiostat to working and counter electrodes via a single mini-B USB plug and provides a breakout wire for the reference electrode; therefore, it is ideally suited for use with platinum and gold screen-printed electrodes.  This is because these platinum and gold screen-printed electrodes may be shipped with an Ag/AgCl reference electrode on the SPE, but it will wear and lose stability over time; at which point users typically provide an external reference electrode.  Similarly, this is true for the reference electrode on the Honeycomb spectroelectrochemical electrodes.  This cable provides the simplicity of plug-and-play connection to the Screen-Printed Electrode cell kit or to the Honeycomb spectroelectrochemical cell kit with the ability to use an external reference electrode.
