Low Volume Alkaline Resistant RDE/RRDE Cell Kit
This is a special alkaline-resistant low volume PTFE cell kit that allows RDE/RRDE experiments to be conducted with as low as ~6-10 mL of electrolyte. It is compatible with all Pine Research rotators and RDE/RRDE tips. The 24/25 center port allows the RDE/RRDE tip, and four radially-spaced 14/20 ports allow reference and counter electrodes to be inserted with adapters.
The kit comes with adapters and a LowProfile Pt Counter Electrode, but does not include a reference electrode. If working in strong alkaline electrolyte, the user may have two options. First, a standard size Hg/HgO Reference Electrode will fit in the side 14/20 ports, but is not available in LowProfile size. Alternatively, the user may purchase a LowProfile Ag/AgCl Reference Electrode that is not generally recommended for use with strong alkaline electrolyte, but may be used in limited cases with this cell design. Note that if using this Ag/AgCl reference electrode chemistry, it may be necessary to frequently discard and replace the reference electrode.
This product is sold as a kit, meaning it consists of multiple independent products used together. View the individual kit products in the tab below.
