Proteus Alpha II Cell Kit, 375 mL jacketed glass cell
The Proteus Alpha II Cell with 375 mL jacketed-cell is a flexible system that can be used for many applications. The most common application is in the analysis of flat samples, such as measuring the corrosion rate of a sample that may be modified with paint or other types of coatings. Sometimes cells for studying the electrochemistry of flat samples are called flat cells. The Proteus Alpha II cell is especially suited to thin and planar samples without the need for expensive sample holders or custom electrodes. Another application of this cell is for use as a photoelectrochemical cell, where one end of the cell holds a quartz window and the opposite end holds a flat photoanode material. Light is directed toward the photoanode through the quartz window, with counter and reference electrode installed within the cell through the 14/20 ground glass joints in the top of the glass. The Proteus Alpha II was designed to be simple to use, quick to assemble/disassemble/clean, sturdy, flexible, and versatile. For many applications, the Proteus Alpha II Cell can simplify the physical setup of both corrosion and photoelectrochemicalexperiments.
