WaveDriver Mini-USB Style Cell Cable with Reference Pin Connector typically used to connect a WaveDriver potentiostat to a Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemistry Cell |
This special cell cable is typically used to connect a WaveDriver series potentiostat to a Pine Research Screen-Printed Electrode Cell. This cable is designed for use with a screen-printed electrode (SPE) card where the reference electrode is printed on to the SPE card along with the working and counter electrodes.
See "Description" tab below for additional important details.
This cell cable is typically used to connect a WaveDriver series potentiostat to an Pine Research Screen-Printed Electrode Cell. This cable is designed for those cases where all three electrodes (working, counter, and reference) are part of the screen-printed electrode.
One end of this cable has a D-shell connector which connects to the cell port on the WaveDriver potentiostat. The other end of the cable terminates at both a mini-USB style plug. The mini-USB plug contains the working, counter and reference electrode connections.
When used with a Screen-Printed Electrode Cell, connection to the counter and working electrodes located on the screen-printed electrode (SPE) is via the mini-USB plug. The connection to the reference electrode is also made via the mini-USB plug, and the reference electrode is typically a silver/silver-chloride ink spot that has been screen-printed on to the SPE itself.
This cable is very rarely used with a Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemistry Cell, but if it is used in this manner, then the reference electrode is connected to a spot on the Honeycomb Electrode card. Typically, this spot is NOT coated with silver/silver-chloride, so this cable is not recommended for use with spectroelectrochemistry cells.
