MAXIMUM ROTATION RATE: 3000 RPM -- Never exceed maximum rotation rate when working with rotating electrodes.

This series of RRDE tips may be used with the WaveVortex 10, MSR, and ASR electrode rotators.

These Fixed-Disk RRDE tips feature a sub-millimeter gap between the disk and ring, making them well-suited for studying short-lived intermediates that must transit the ring-disk gap as quickly as possible.  The E7R8 RRDE tips are also designed with the same thread connections as our E5 and E6 Series RDE/RRDE tips, allowing them to be used interchangeably with the same shaft.

  • Ring-Disk Gap = 180 μm; Collection Efficiency = 22%
  • Disk OD = 4.57 mm; Ring OD = 5.38 mm; Ring ID = 4.93 mm
  • Fixed-Disk RRDE tip; 15.0 mm OD PTFE shroud
  • Compatible with the WaveVortex 10, MSR and ASR rotators

MAXIMUM ROTATION RATE: 3000 RPM — Never exceed maximum rotation rate when working with rotating electrodes.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: 10°C – 25°C — Electrode damage may occur at temperatures beyond recommended range.

Each electrode is also individually tested and certified to be leak-free and mirror polished at the time of shipment.

Fabricating an RRDE tip with a glassy carbon disk or ring is difficult due to the fragile nature of the glassy carbon.  In general, slightly larger dimensions are required when working with glassy carbon.  For this reason, all RRDE tips which have a glassy carbon disk or ring are manufactured using the E7R9 Series RRDE tip dimensions.  Other RRDE tips with metal disks and rings are fabricated using the smaller E7R8 Series dimensions.

Compatible shafts include AFE6MBAFE6M, and AFE5M for use with the MSR rotatorAFE6A and AFE5A for use with the ASR rotator, and AFE5F for non-rotating applications.  The E7R8 Series RRDE tips are also compatible with the WaveVortex 10 Electrode Rotator.
