Post-Duck Rubber Duck |
Have you ever noticed that the trace of a cyclic voltammogram resembles a duck? At least for a nicely behaved reversible system? The beak, the tail...use your imagination. Electrochemists around the world have been known to refer to CVs as ducks (or perhaps geese or hummingbirds as the kinetics allow). We think every electrochemical scientist needs one or more of our collectible Dr. Reducks® and Post-Duck.
- An opportunity to chuckle
- A moment to smile
- Something to decorate the bathtub
Have you ever noticed that the trace of a cyclic voltammogram resembles a duck? At least for a nicely-behaved reversible system? The beak, the tail…use your imagination. Electrochemists around the world have been known to refer to CVs as ducks (or perhaps geese or hummingbirds as the kinetics allow). So, you can imagine our delight when Dr. Reducks® walked into Pine Research. Bringing smiles, laughs (or groans), and unexpected fun to the world of electrochemical instrumentation, Dr. Reducks embodies the fun spirit we try to share at Pine Research. What other duck photo-bombs instructional videos, has a Facebook page, and even stars in his own miniseries? Due to his wretchedly busy schedule, Dr. Reducks had no choice but to hire help in his lab. The Post-Duck joined the Reducks lab last year, and has been busy visiting every conference possible. In prior years, you may have been lucky enough to pick up your very own Dr. Reducks or Post-Duck at a conference where Pine Research was exhibiting. These days the ducks are getting quite hard to find. If you are interested in a duck, contact Pine Research, and if we still have any in stock, we’ll let you know.
