A new note will be added in the archive, and the note name in the left tree structure is automatically highlighted for editing (see Figure 2). A new note name may be given if desired. The name of the note may not be identical to any other item in that same level of the tree structure; however, it may have the same name as another item in a different, higher, or lower level of the hierarchical tree structure.
Hierarchical Structure
The new note also displays information related to its date of creation and date of last modification for record-keeping purposes.

Once the note has been added to the archive, text may be added into the main body in a variety of fonts, sizes, colors, and styles such as italics, bold, strikethrough, subscript, or superscript. Stylized and detailed descriptions of an experimental setup can be easily documented for future reference (see Figure 3).
