Standard Cell Cables
RRTPE40-T

Shielded WaveNow Cell Cable
connects potentiostat to electrodes in the cell

cable assembly with outer shield; HD-15 male to five banana plugs with optional alligator clips
compatible with any WaveNow series potentiostat

Special Cell Cables
RRTPE04

Compact Voltammetry Cell Cable
connects any WaveNow Series potentiostat to a Compact Voltammetry or Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemical Cell

for use with a reference electrode that is part of the screen-printed electrode (SPE)

RRTPE05

Compact Voltammetry Cell Cable
with Reference Electrode Breakout

connects any WaveNow Series potentiostat to a Compact Voltammetry or Honeycomb Spectroelectrochemical Cell

for use with a separate reference electrode not located on the screen-printed electrode (SPE)

The color scheme for all standard WaveNow cell cables is described below.

  • RED – primary working electrode (drive)
  • ORANGE – primary working electrode (sense)
  • GREEN – counter electrode (drive)
  • WHITE – reference electrode (sense)
  • GRAY – instrument chassis
  • BLACK – DC common

Each cell cable offers two lines which “drive” the current between the working electrode and the counter electrode. There are also two “sense” lines which measure the potential difference between the working electrode and the reference electrode.

Note that the working electrode sense line and the working electrode drive line are often shorted together at a point near the electrochemical cell. This is easily accomplished by stacking the red banana plug into the back of the orange banana plug.

Each cable offers some means of making a “ground” connection if needed. Some cable designs offer a connection to DC common (black banana plug) while other cables with additional shielding offer a connection to the instrument chassis (gray banana plug).
