This bundle pairs a WaveNow® portable potentiostat with a compact WaveVortex® rotator, giving you an affordable Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) system that can be easily installed in a small lab space, mounted on a mobile lab cart, or taken into the field. This bundle includes a glassy carbon RDE tip, an electrochemical cell, reference and counter electrodes, and related accessories.
Under the control of our powerful AfterMath® software package, the WaveNowxv Potentiostat is capable of performing a wide range of DC electroanalytical techniques including several Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) voltammetry techniques. This potentiostat plays well with the WaveVortex 10 Rotator and is able to automatically control the rotation rate while measuring electrochemical signals. This RDE start-up bundle includes the following principal items along with compatible cables and accessories:
- WaveNowxv Potentiostat/Galvanostat
- WaveVortex 10 Electrode Rotator with Fixed-Disk Glassy Carbon RDE tip
- Pine Research AfterMath Software
- Jacketed RDE Cell (glass) with Pt Counter and Ag/AgCl Reference Electrode
This bundle contains all the equipment you need to get started performing Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) voltammetry right out of the box. Both the potentiostat and rotator are compact and portable. Enjoy one of the best potentiostat software experiences while using high-quality and hand-crafted electrodes and cells. We have taken the guesswork out of choosing a new RDE system by combining the most essential and popular items together in an affordable bundle that can be purchased with one click.
This bundle includes a selection of the most popular accessories for rotating disk voltammetry, including a five-neck and water-jacketed electrochemical cell, a glassy carbon RDE (the working electrode), a platinum counter electrode, and a silver/silver-chloride reference electrode.
A special rotation rate control cable allows the WaveNowxv Potentiostat to directly control the rotation rate, so that you can set up all of your experimental parameters, including the rotation rate, using our powerful AfterMath instrument control and data analysis software.
Portable. Only 30 mm thick and less than 175 mm long and weighing less than 300 grams, this potentiostat is the ultimate portable instrument–small enough to fit into your laptop’s tote bag, your carry-on luggage, or your coat pocket. You can take your potentiostat to your work area rather than having to move your work area to your potentiostat. An optional battery pack lets you take your potentiostat into the field when needed.
Capable. Designed with the everyday user in mind, the specifications for the potentiostat are broad enough to permit you to perform a wide range of routine electrochemical techniques but also prudently chosen to allow for a simple and affordable design. In addition to several rotating disk electrode methods, the software supports common DC electroanalytical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, bulk electrolysis, differential pulse voltammetry, square-wave and normal pulse voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry.
MAXIMUM ROTATION RATE: Each electrode tip model used with the WaveVortex 10 rotator has a maximum rotation rate. Do not the exceed maximum rotation rate when working with rotating electrodes.
The WaveVortex 10 Electrode Rotator is designed to suit the needs of those looking to perform rotating disk (RDE) and rotating ring-disk (RRDE) electrode experiments with limited lab space. This small footprint rotator is compatible with all 15 mm OD RDE/RRDE electrodes manufactured by Pine Research, along with many of our cells, glassware, and accessories.
The control box, motor, shaft, and enclosure are all fixed into one convenient unit, making the WaveVortex compact and portable. The rotation rate can be manually adjusted on the front panel and monitored on the digital display. Alternately, the potentiostat can control the rotation rate using the appropriate rate control cable.
This bundle is a good choice for an initial laboratory setup. As your research evolves, it is likely your specific needs will change. Pine Research has you covered, and we offer many additional kinds of rotating electrode tips and accessories to allow you to expand the capabilities of your WaveVortex 10 rotator. This rotator can also be used with Rotating Ring-Disk Electrodes (RRDE). If you are contemplating future RRDE research work, keep in mind that working with an RRDE requires a bipotentiostat, and we suggest that you consider our WaveDriver 40 DC Bipotentiostat or our WaveDriver 200 EIS Bipotentiostat to control such RRDE experiments.
